U18 Team Manager
Responsible to: The County Junior Manager
Main responsibility: To Manage the County U18 Team - including but not limited to:
To monitor the performances of the players in the U18 Squad.
To select teams for all U18 matches and to liaise with parents to ensure that players are available and to communicate/organise travel arrangements for matches.
To liaise with the representatives of other counties in coordinating match arrangements.
To take responsibility for the welfare of all players whilst they are in the care of BCGU.
To ensure, in conjunction with the Junior Manager, that appropriate transport and accommodation is booked well in advance for all fixtures. For away fixtures it is likely that the U18 Team Manager might be called upon to drive a minibus and on some occasions will take responsibility for the players during an overnight stay.
To work with the Junior Manager, County Coaches and other Team Managers to identify and nurture talented golfers and to bring them into the various County Squads.
To implement the Bedfordshire County Golf Union Safeguarding Procedures including appropriate use of the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure the welfare of children within the squad.
This is a voluntary position attracting a small honorarium to reflect the time spent.
The U18 Team plays:
Three league matches – one each in Bedfordshire, Norfolk & Suffolk
One Trophy against Leicestershire & Rutland and Norfolk (practice day/match day)
One County Qualifier against the ten other counties in the South East Group (practice day/match day)
A season opening event against the BCGU Seniors and County First Team
A season closing event against the BCGU Seniors
