Ladies Girls junior Championship 2016
Annabel Pitts from Beadlow Manor golf club wins her second county championship title this year. In May, Annabel won the ladies County Championship, played at John O Gaunt; and yesterday she won the girls county championship at South beds golf club. Annabel will now go on to represent Bedfordshire at the England women's and girls 'County Champion of champions' to be held at Woodhall Spa Golf club on the 11th September. We wish Annabel the best of luck and congratulations on a very successful year so far. The hard work is certainly paying off. Gerogia Staroscik from Leighton buzzard put in a wonderful round and only just missed out by 1 shot. The scoring was excellent on a beautiful warm day and some of the young stars saw their handicaps cut. Abbie Roberts from Chalgrave Manor GC was 1st in the under 16 with a nett 67, and in second place was Molly Chowings from John O Gaunt GC shooting a 71 nett. In the under 14, there was success for the host club with Stephanie Chafer coming 1st and in second place was Estelle Klausner both from Southbeds.A nine hole comp for the under nines was won by Roisin Scanlon from the Bedfordshire GC. Roisin will be off to the US in August to take part in the world USKids Championship.Thank you again to our CJO Christine Goode for organising a wonderful tournament. Thank you to her husband Stuart for helping out with imputing the score on our new Intelligent golf website. Thank you to everyone who supported the day. A big thank you to SouthBeds golf club for hosting the day and supporting the next generation of young lady golfers in the County.
