FINAL QUALIFYING FOR THE WOMENS BRITISH OPEN AT JOHN O'GAUNT GOLF CLUB

Monday 25th July, John O'Gaunt Golf Club will be hosting the final qualifying event for this years Womens British Open to be hosted at Woburn later that week.  This is a great opportunity for both John O'Gaunt and the county to host such a prestigious event.

The event is FREE to attend and is a fantastic chance to watch professional golfers up close. It is also the first day of the school summer holidays and would be a great occasion to bring along son/daughters, grandsons/grandaughters to enjoy a spectacular day of golf.

John O’Gaunt Golf Club pro Lee Scarbrow, who coached British number one Charley Hull when she was a youngster, says the large number of girl members at the club will benefit from watching these top players in action during Final Qualifying.

He said: “The golfers who play on the Ladies European Tour, and other tours around the world, are what the young girls who we teach are aspiring to become.

“They want to go on and perhaps compete on the same tours in years to come. This competition gives them the opportunity to watch some top tournament players out there.

“But it’s not only that because the girls just want to go out there and have fun and enjoy the game. We have coaching sessions on a Sunday morning with around 60 kids, and around 60% of those are girls, which is fantastic for them and us.”
