Ladies County Mix Foursomes Championship

The 2016 County Mix Foursomes Championship was played at Bedford & County Golf Club on a beautiful sunny day in ideal weather conditions .  64 players entered the Championship with a mixture of youth and maturity that created an infectious energy in the club house.  The golf course and the greens were in perfect conditions for shooting low scores and we were not disappointed.  Bethany Healey and Elliot Smith opened the morning scoring with a sizzling gross 67.  They lead the first round by 4 shots to Victoria Collin and Morgan Darnell from John O'Gaunt who were on a gross 71.  Last years winners Annabel Pitts & Jack Hawksby shot a gross 72.   Laura Collin and Graham Anderson also from John O'Gaunt on a gross 73.  The Championship was set for a big finish for the top four teams.   After lunch and maybe one or two ice creams on the half way house slowed the scoring down a touch.  However; Bethany & Elliot held out and won the Championship by 3 shots.  An awesome display of golf from all.   Congratulations also to Jenny Prior and Rob Westgate winning the best Nett prize.  Prizes were rewarded for 1st,2nd & 3rd Gross scores and 1st, 2nd & 3rd nett scores.  Best AM Gross & Nett and Best PM Gross & Nett.   Lots of prizes for excellent scores.  BLCGA President Kitty Nulty presented the prizes.  Full scoring can be seen on results page.

Thank you to Jackie Smith, secretary at Beds & County for organising tee times and the catering.  Everything flowed beautiful.   Thank you to Bedford & County for the hospitality of their beautiful course, Clive Allen club captain for his support throughout the day, Mike Smith and Bob Roberts who acted as starters.  Many thanks to Margaret Watchorn for helping with the cards in the morning.   A big thank you to Martin & Christine McDermott for helping with scoring and results.

Champions.
