Annual Dinner

The Union held it's 47th Annual Dinner at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club on Friday 4th November. 120 guests were treated to a fine four course dinner, followed by a presentation of prizes to league winners. Individual prizes were presented to Mat Hill, (Leighton Buzzard) who was the Scratch Knockout Champion, Ryan Craig, (Dunstable Downs) who was Golfer of the Year and also received his County Colours, and to Harry Boyle (Beadlow Manor) who was the winner of the 2016 Bedfordshire Order of Merit (BOOM).

The President, David Hawkins (Leighton Buzzard) also presented a 'Pride of Bedfordshire' award to Gary Boyle for all his hard work and success with the Juniors from Beadlow Manor.

David then addressed the guests briefly before proposing a toast to the County Golf Union.

On behalf of the guests, Peter McGovern who was previously Head Professional at The Belfry, replied and entertained everyone with a string of stories and jokes which were very well received.
