County Captain's Fun(D) Day
The last competition & penultimate event to organise by Bedfordshire County Captain, affording some welcome respite prior to completing my Captaincy term. A fantastic turnout of 168 ladies descended on South Beds GC on Thursday 5th October. 72 ladies teed off at 8 AM shot gun start just as the skies cleared after heavy rain & strong winds throughout the night & early morning. While's those ladies played, a further 96 ladies arrived to get ready for their shot gun start at 1 PM. The proceeds from the day would go towards training & coaching for our young players & the County teams.
It was stated by many that they never seen so many ladies playing! The course itself was in excellent condition & very much appreciated by the competitors.
The resoundingly success warrants a huge thank you to the many helpers from South Beds & men's section. To those who helped with registration, car parking, refreshments tents, cakes, hot & cold drinks. Thank you to everyone who brought along prizes for raffles tickets. Thank you to Martin McDermott & Dave Corfan for their continuous support to me. I would like to profusely thank Richard Martin, South Beds general manager, Dawn Simpson the catering & bar staff for a well organised event.
The biggest thank you goes to the 168 ladies who supported the event. Thank you to you & congratulations to all the winners.
