Bedfordshire County Golf

Congratulations to Helen Taylor BLCGA County Captain for 2017-2019

The outgoing Captain Bridie Quinn thanked Helen for her wonderful support in her role as Vice-Captain.”I know Helen will be a fantastic Captain as she has the respect both as a golfer & is a fantastic person. Her passion for Bedfordshire golf is immense & the County is very fortunate to have such a worthy Captain”

County badges were exchanged and Helen introduced her Vice –Captain Paulette Rodney proposed for the position of Vice Captain by Helen Taylor and seconded by Kitty Nulty.

Helen said "I was delighted that Paulette Rodney agreed to be my Vice-Captain.  Her enthusiasm, forward-thinking and experience will be invaluable to the County and I am really looking forward to working with her. My time as Vice-Captain has flown by.  I have had the benefit of shadowing a great Captain in Bridie Quinn giving me the opportunity to increase my knowledge in preparation for my forthcoming role as Captain.  Although that’s not to say I’m not still anxious about the responsibility and grateful for the very strong and supportive Committee"

Helen would normally give Paulette her badge but unfortunately she is unable to be here.

Paulette Acceptance speech was read by Gwen

Thank you Lady President Heddwen Molloy, Vice President Claudine Tate, past and present captains and all elected officers and members of Bedfordshire Ladies County Golf Association in attendance today.

A special thanks to Helen Taylor, County Captain for inviting me to be her Vice-Captain and to Kitty Nulty, Past President for supporting my nomination. I am truly humbled by the trust and confidence that you have placed in me.

Thank you to Bridie Quinn, Past County Captain for her unwavering support and guidance since my involvement in the County’s second team. You have been a positive role model.

Let me start by saying I feel greatly honoured and privileged to be accepting the election of County Vice-Captain. It is unfortunate that due to prior commitments I am unable to be present in person today, to say thank you for entrusting me in this role.  I will do my utmost to endeavour to fulfil the responsibilities of the role to the best of my abilities.

I am excited at the prospect of working with Helen as County Captain. I have seen the commitment that Helen has shown as Vice-Captain over the past two years. I envisage that this will continue in her term as County Captain and I look forward with great enthusiasm to support Helen in her role. I will continue to build on the excellent work that Bridie and Helen has achieved over the past two years. In particular, working collaboratively with our Junior Organisers to strengthen the resolved of our juniors and more experienced players, to produce the bests results possible; year on year for our county second team’s progression; to one day winning County Week!
