Ladies 4BBB Rules

COMPETITION REGULATIONS
(Applicable to all Competitions)

BLCGA competitions are open to amateur members of Clubs affiliated to the Union. Players must have a current, CONGU competition handicap and provide their individual CDH lifetime identification number obtainable from their Home Club. Inactive, temporary, block or social club members are not eligible to enter.

All disputes will be settled by the Championship Committee, whose decision shall be final.

The Championship Committee, in addition to the powers conferred upon it by the Rules of Golf, have power to modify the regulations governing any Competition that is its responsibility.

Competitions will be played under the Rules of Golf, as supplemented by Local Rules, including any additional Local Rules as may be necessary, made on the day of the Competition as approved by the Championship Committee.

Distance-Measuring Devices. In all County Competitions a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.

Mobile phones, if carried on the course or used as a DMD, must not be used to make or receive calls, texts or any type of message or to access the internet. They may be used only in the event of an emergency. If such an emergency occurs, it must be reported to the Championship Committee as soon as is practicable and no later than presentation of scorecard at the end of the round. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

A player may represent only one Club in any calendar year. Should a player represent his existing Club in a competition that runs from one year into another, providing he does not play for his existing Club in that competition after 1 January he will be eligible to represent his new Club.

A player representing a Club in any County Competition, with the exception of the Tavistock Trophy, must have that Club as their Home Club.

Competition entries will close two weeks before the date of Competition (unless otherwise stated), and NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. A reserve list will, however, be maintained by the Competition Secretary to replace anyone withdrawing from the original list.

The minimum age for Adult Championships is 16yrs of age, except for the County and Colts Championships where handicap criteria only apply. Juniors with a handicap of 9.4 or better may play in the Foursomes Championship in 2015 on a trial basis, but for the Fourball Competition must be partnered by an Adult (18yrs and above). All Juniors must have a Parental Form completed by their Parents or Guardian before they can compete in any competition.

COUNTY FOURBALL COMPETITION

1 The Fourball Competition shall be open to any amateur pairing who are members of an affiliated Club in the County, and have that Club as their Home Club for handicapping purposes. Pairings may be made from different Clubs, however, as long as both ‘Home Clubs’ are in the County. Entries will be accepted on a “first come first served” basis with no ballot of higher handicaps if over-subscribed.

2 The Competition shall be decided by Stableford Scoring (90% handicap) over 18 holes, the pair returning the highest points will be the winners. In the event of a tie the result will be decided on the scores over the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes.

3 The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Competitions Committee and will be shown on the application form.

3 All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.
