We entertained Cambridgeshire at Bedford & County, playing our annual friendly for The Rhea Cup. The course was in great condition and the greens were quick and rolling true. We kicked off at 9am with the weather being cloudy and a bit breezy, but overall, not bad golfing conditions.

The morning 10 hole greensomes were quite tight affairs and we came in to lunch down by a point 3 1/2 - 2 1/2. The afternoon fourballs were a different matter and, with 2 points for a win, Cambridge secured their victory with 4 wins to our 2, making the afternoon total 8 - 4.

Thanks to Bill Love and Les Sharman for standing in at short notice. They also share the honour of being men of the match, getting a well earned half in the morning, and spanking the opposition 5&4 in the afternoon!

It looks like we'll just have to take it away from them next year, when we visit Cambridgeshire.
