The match was played at Farnham Park G.C. near Slough and despite the weather forecasts we were fortunate to have good weather throughout.  For a number or our players this was their first match for the County.

The morning consisted of 9 hole foursomes and we struggled against much stronger opposition from both the other counties taking only ½ point against BB&O and 1½ points against Middlesex.  Unfortunately Ryan Smith damaged his hand on the 7th  hole and was unable to continue.  Ryan and Dean Hodges were up in both their matches but had to concede against Middlesex having already achieved a half against BB&O.

We started the afternoon singles one down as we only had 9 players.  The results were better with 4 wins against BB&O and 3 against Middlesex.

Overall we lost 4½ - 10½ to both the other sides.  Many of the matches were close and there was much to be encouraged about from a young and in many instances inexperienced side.

John Jones, Team Manager.
