There was an unfortunate communications error before this match which meant Bedfordshire only had 6 players at the start. County President Clive Allen's phone was going into melt-down and we are extremely grateful to Bill Hunter, Joe Griffiths, Les Sharman and Rob Westgate for turning out with the shortest possible notice to play.
Our guests from Suffolk were very understanding but we do owe them an apology.
With only six players available at the start of the morning foursomes - plus Clive who was still on the 'phone - we had to concede two matches but finished the morning 3 - 2 up. This one point lead was maintained in the afternoon singles, which we shared 5 - 5, leaving Bedfordshire the winners by the narrowest of margins against our good friends from Suffolk.
