Bedford & County 2 qualify for Woodhall Spa

The Junior Inter-Club competition was held at Bedfordshire Golf Club on Saturday 10th June 2017.

The course was in superb condition but whoever ordered the weather forgot to ask for the wind to be switched off - it was brutal. However, despite the very strong winds there was some excellent golf played and a few of the youngsters returned surprisingly good scores. 18 of the 39 players broke 30 points but the best performace on the day came from JR Ellis of Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club with a great score of 38 points. Well done JR!

This is, however, primarily a team competition and Bedford & County 2 ran out winners by 4 points from Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands 1. Finlay Cummings (35 points), Jack Manley (31 points) and George Garnham (31 points) made up the winning team. Congratulations to Bedford & County and particularly to the three young men who represented them so well on the day.

Thanks to the clubs who entered teams and to the youngsters who played - you are all a credit to yourselves and your clubs.

Big thanks to David Corfan for organising the day and Mike Smith who spent the day refereeing once again.
