Bridgestone European Challenge Tour comes to Luton Hoo

Luton Hoo Golf Club will be host to the Bridgestone European Challenge Tour event on September (7th-10th). Charlie Barwis (County development officer) has been working closely with the club, the sponsors of the event and with EG’s national management to help deliver a great golf event in Bedfordshire.   It will be a great opportunity to showcase golf in Bedfordshire and can act as a catalyst at a local level to get more people exposed and involved to the game.

Three of our ‘Girls Golf Rocks’ ambassadors have been invited to play in the Pro-Am on Wednesday 6th September.   They are Imogen King from the Pavenham Golf Club, Chanel Fointaine-Geary from South Beds GC, and Freya Daniels from Leighton Buzzard GC and in reserve will be Estelle Klausner also from South Beds.  These girls have been a big part in supporting more girls to take up golf in the county leading to a successful outcome for the Girls Golf Rocks programme in Bedfordshire in its first year.  Bedfordshire GGR can build on this success going into next year.

Attached is the official poster Click HERE for the event.  You will notice on the poster each day has been themed, with events on the day to support this:

  • Thursday will the 'Schools Day
  • Friday will be 'Ladies Day and Bridgestone have managed to get Charley Hull to support the day.  Charlie will be running some clinics throughout the day and also doing Q&A.  Please come along as it will be great to a star like Charley supporting the event.
