Georgia Staroscik is the Women's County Champion for 2018

Perfect conditions on the qualifying rounds for the championship on Thursday did not disappoint with excellent scoring.  Georgia Staroscik winning the 36 holes with scores of gross 75 + 75, the runner up was Sally Shayler.  And with fantastic matches in the knockout stages, those positions remained for the final, with Georgia becoming the Bedfordshire Women’ County Champion for 2018 and Sally runner up.  In tough conditions with heavy rain on the Saturday, the golf again was class.  Well done to semi-finalist Annabel Pitts and Nikki Morris.

Congratulations to Linda Humphries who won the County Cup.

This cup is opened to the second division category & is played on the same day as the Women’s County Championship semis & Final day.

The top four in second division spring meeting was:

Linda Humphries (The Millbrook), Nicki Reynolds (Beadlow Manor), & Rachel Bryan (AG) Julia Thompson (The Bedford).

Thank you to Dunstable Downs GC for hosting the event.  The course was in excellent conditions and thank you to everyone at Dunstable  for the hospitality shown to all.  A big thank you to everyone who came to support the event.

County Captain Helen Taylor was delighted to announce the team to represent Bedfordshire in the England Women’s East region finals for 2018 (CMW). The finals will be held at Woodbridge GC in Suffolk — Mon 18th June to Friday 22nd June. The team as follows County Champion Georgia Staroscik -Sally Shayler- Annabel Pitts-Nikki Morris - Steph Scott- Ghie McKinley - Kat Close - Gill Westgate -Clare Arbuckle - Chris Jones - Dawn French and Sophie Hillier. Congratulations to you all.

Let this be Bedfordshire’s year to win & go through to the England County Finals. Best of luck to Helen and the team.
