Update on County Competitions

Update on County Competitions.

As you are aware, we have postponed the County and Handicap Championships, Seniors and Foursomes to September.  We were hoping to run the FourBall at the end of July, but unfortunately following extensive discussions, Luton Hoo have withdrawn their offer to host the competition at that time due to circumstances beyond their control and impact caused by the CV19 pandemic.  We will be in touch with Luton Hoo at the end of July, once the impact of the release from lockdown is better understood and hopefully we’ll be able to run a competition there in September or early October.

We have decided to run an 18 hole FourBall on 27th September at Aspley Guise.  This was the date that we had been offered for the Foursomes, and if we get a new date from Luton Hoo, then we’ll use that date and venue for an 18 hole Foursomes Championship.

Finally, I will be opening entries for the postponed competitions one month before they will be played.  This will enable us to organise the precise format of each competition as close to the date as possible.

Many thanks for your continued patience as we try to salvage some competitions for 2020.  I hope to see you later in the year.

Kind regards, David
