Our third match which should have been on Saturday morning finally teed off at 11am with packed sandwiches being sent out with the teams. The weather was clearer albeit fresh and the course was playing very soft and greens receptive. This was a match against the team that eventually proved to be the winners and although the score was 1-4 it seemed so much closer than that. Georgia and Annabel at the top of the order eventually got a half, although were ahead for much of the match and could have brought a point home. Sue and Laura lost against a stronger pair with all four of their foursomes players being at american colleges. Luca got a half, but being two up with two holes left she was frustrated by an opponent who finished with a birdie two on the last - a good effort but doubtless she was annoyed and there would be a chance for redemption on the last day. The final two singles were lost by Caitlin and Chanel but the matches were all pretty close and the girls fought to the end.
