The Seniors completed their League season with an away fixture v Middlesex at Muswell Hill Golf Club in Monday 22nd August, unfortunately I was not in attendance due to holiday commitments but that appeared to work out just fine. Thanks to all those who played with some thankfully being able to come in at the 11th hour and special thanks to Dickie Harris for taking on the Captains roll in my absence though it appeared to have a detrimental affect on his game, drove it in every ditch on the course apparently.

In what was a very close match with the first 5 games all going up the 18th, Dickie out no 1 unfortunately lost 2 down however this was followed by an excellent run of results with Ian Farrent securing a half, Colin Beard and Alan Kirby both winning on the last and another half point from Steve Kavanagh after a great fight back from being behind. More good news was to follow with solid performances and wins for both Dave Marshall and Tony Crockford, unfortunately this was offset by defeats for Gareth Shorley and first team Manager Tracy White but that did leave us in a position of knowing a halved match had been secured.

A win though was never in doubt with tail gunner Banners securing the required 1/2 point to give us a 5 1/2 to 4 1/2 victory, well when I say never in doubt fortunately Banners was 2 up with 2 to play when he was informed of the match position so even loosing the last 2 and collapsing like a cheap suit was good enough to secure the match win.

We now move onto our final outing of the season when we take part in the SEG foursomes final at Boyce Hill in Essex on Thursday 15th September.
