BLCGA and Bedfordshire Golf Development Group are running an event aimed at new lady golfers. It is a 9 hole Texas Scramble for 3 ladies to represent your club. Ideally, the ladies will be new to golf, keen to play new courses and hopefully enjoy cake and prosecco!
How it works
The idea is that your BLCGA club delegate or another designated person in your Ladies sections encourages teams of beginner golfers to take part in the event. There are 3 separate events over par 3 or short courses with a Texas Scramble format for 3 players. Ideally the players should have had enough tuition and practice to enable them to play on the course but without having a competition handicap. The delegate or club representative will be the non-player, experienced golfer who walks round with the team to help with the format and speed things up a bit!
Clubs can enter as many teams as they like for 1 or more of the events and teams can be changed for each event.
There are no winners as such but hopefully there will be some pleasure in good scores and also with the social element to follow, Cake and Prosecco!
We are looking for our club pros who are coaching newish ladies together with county delegates and Captains to identify and encourage lots of interest and show that their subscriptions to county golf are for ALL golfers and not just the elite!
If you have teams that are interested please can you contact either Liz Bagshaw or Alison Kavanagh (details below) to register so we have can confirm numbers to arrange tee times and catering.
