Summer Lock down Junior Girls Competition

As County Competitions have had to be cancelled for all ages for the time being I am running the above competition for all  Junior Girls in the County. They will play at the their own golf clubs where they are a member. The younger girls might need an adult to help with the counting and format. It is for all girls whether they have a handicap or not.

Please pass this email to girls at your clubs.

The rules are as follows and I hope as many girls as possible take part:-

There will be a first and second prize for each handicap group. The girls will play off their full handicaps. The competition will run from the 4th to 17th July and the girls are to send me their best two scores from them playing at their own clubs. Please text me on 07891029469 before going out to play with your name and handicap  Once you have played no need to send the card just their score i.e. +3, -2 etc etc either by text or email. Please be honest with your scoring.

2. Girls will be split into the following groups:

Group One Handicaps 0 - 14

Group Two Handicaps 15 - 35

Group Three Handicaps 36 and above. Girls with no handicap can still play and will play off a handicap of 54

3. Groups 1 and 2 should score an 18 hole round whereby group 3 can score a 9 hole round.

4. There is no entry fee.

5. A bogey competition is essentially a matchplay round whereby each player competes against the golf course. It is scored by having plus (+) for a score better than net par on any hole, zero (0) for a score of net par on any hole and minus (-) for a score worse than net par on any hole. At the end of the round the player records how many up or down they are against par. For example three up (+3) to six down (-6). See the following single hole example:

A player with a 5 handicap scores a 4 on a par 4 which has a stroke index of 1. As she would have therefore scored a net 3 which is better than par then she would record a + on the card. If a girl with a 54 handicap on the same hole shoots a 7 then that would be a net par and therefore she would record a 0. If a girl with a handicap of 15 shoots a 6 on the same hole then that would be a net bogey and she would record a - on the card.
