County Week 2019 Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands 17th - 21st June

BEDFORDSHIRE CLUB TO HOST MAJOR EAST REGION GOLF EVENT

The cream of ladies County golfing talent will be on display at Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club week commencing 17th June 2019.

The club will host the East Region’s County Match week for 2019.  Six of the East Region counties will take part – Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk and of course Bedfordshire.

Norfolk are the current East Region Champions but on home territory Bedfordshire will be a force to be reckoned with.

The winning County team goes on to represent the East at the National finals for the chance to be overall English County Champions – a title currently held by Gloucestershire.

The Bedfordshire squad will comprise 12 players with 9 different local clubs being represented, including Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands player Steph Scott and our newly crowned County Champion, Annabel Pitts from Mount Pleasant.  As County Captain Helen Taylor from Aspley Guise will be well placed to give the team all the advice they will need for a great week of golf.

But whichever team wins at Aspley Guise on the final day – Friday 21st June – if the form of previous County weeks is anything to go by it will have been an exciting time with some great golf.

So if you want to see some excellent ladies golf at a local venue, free of charge, then Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf club will give you a warm welcome and the Bedfordshire squad can only benefit from local support.
