Seniors County Qualifying

The SEG 6 man County Team Qualifying event was hosted by Bedfordshire this year, and played at Bedfordshire Golf Club on Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18^th June. The team of John Haines, John Donnelly, Les Sharman, Rob Westgate, Peter Dobson and Tim Bevan, played really well and did great credit to their county. The first day saw some difficult windy conditions and found us in 9^th position out of 11. The second day started with a brief rain shower but picked up and stayed fine for the rest of the competition. With 5 gross scores to count from 6, mistakes are severely punished and scores can build quickly. Our guys fought hard and ended up with a truly magnificent 5^th place behind four of the biggest counties in the South East Group. This is the best result we have had in this competition in the last 10 years, and continues to inspire confidence and belief in the rest of the team.
