Stuart Goode Trophy - First v Seniors v Colts v Juniors

On Saturday 30th March forty eight of the cream of Bedfordshire's golfers competed for the seasons curtain raiser, The Stuart Goode Trophy. In teams of of 12 The Seniors, First, Colts & Juniors played each other in foursomes matchplay.

The result was the closest ever with the First Team, led by Norman Cilliers, just pipping the newly formed Colts team, Colts Team manager Gary Boyle has some great talent to select from this year. Our Juniors, fresh from the Winter Tour of Bedfords Golf Clubs put up an incredible performance and shared the lead at one point and were a credit to our Junior Manager Martin McDermott. The Seniors included our very own star of 2018, Phil Sutton who finished second in the Welsh Open & second in the England Golf Champion of Champions last year.

We are indebted again to Millbrook GC for hosting this event, the course was in great condition and Emma for keeping us so well fed. In fact our Seniors Captain, John Haines, decided that a full English breakfast was preferable to warming up on the practice ground!!
