Seniors v Norfolk

Bedfordshire v Norfolk

The County Seniors travelled to Thetford to play Norfolk on Monday 1st April. Thetford was presented in good condition and we were blessed with fantastic weather. The tight lies and tricky pin placements gave  everybody plenty to think about.

The match was played with the usual  good spirit always on display when Bedfordshire meet Norfolk. The morning greensomes saw Norfolk take a 4/2 lead into the afternoon four balls with wins coming from Marshall and Hollands, Dobson and Smith.

The afternoon was just a close but Bedfordshire managed a great comeback with wins from Mott and Chivers, Brown and Caunt, with Moody and Banwell also winning comfortably it all went down to the last match which Dobson and Smith eventually halved giving an overall score of 9-9 on the day.

All in all this was a pretty good result away from home, our next fixture is for the Rhea Trophy at Bedfordshire Golf Club versus Cambridgeshire on 3rd May. The match is played over 27 holes with a point for a win in the morning Greensomes and 2 points for a win in the afternoon Four balls.
