Bedfordshire Junior Girls finish 3rd in the East Region County Finals 2019

Three memorable days at the Junior East Region County Finals 2019 where the 6 teams competed to find the best county from the region. Congratulations to the Hertfordshire team who were the eventual winners. Thank you to Norfolk for hosting the event & for their hospitality. The event was well organised & the only hitch was the torrential rain on the afternoon on the last match. The Bedfordshire team of Caitlin, Chanel, Cyndy, Estelle, Georgia, Roisin, Jess & Jen represented Bedfordshire in the true spirit of the game and playing some fantastic golf. Bedfordshire finished 3rd but going out on the final day, they were joint leaders on the same points & matches won as Hertfordshire who were their next opponents. 4 of the games went to the 18 & Bedfordshire were narrowly defeated by 3 & 1/2 to 2 & 1/2 & Herts went on to win. The afternoon match against Essex was played in dismal weather but the girls showed strength of character to battle on before the matches was suspended.

The team spirit was excellent & the strength of camaraderie, friendship, respect both for their team mates, opponents, official & supporters was evident. This was Georgia’s final outing as a junior and her achievements will go down in the County history books. Thank you all for representing your County, Bedfordshire is proud of you.
