Junior Girls County Championship 2021

Despite the searing heat and a few juniors unfortunately having to pull out due to forced Covid isolation, five girls turned out to play in this year Junior County Championship played at Dunstable Downs Golf Club on Sunday 18th July 2021.  All the girls put in an impressive show and did not allow the heat to put them off their game.

This year saw the inaugural Christine Goode Salva which is a 9 hole competition for higher 36 + handicap juniors. Congratulations to our winner Georgia Gordon from John O'Gaunt Golf Club.

The winner of the nett over 18 hole competition was Sommer Chan from Leighton Buzzard GC with a nett score of 72.  Our new Junior County Champion is Chanel Fontaine-Geary from South Beds GC with a fantastic gross score of 73.

Congratulations to all our winners and a massive well played to all those who braved the extreme temperatures to represent their clubs.  You did yourselves and your club proud.

Many thanks to County Vice President Margaret Seabrook who was there to cheer the players on and present the trophies.

Finally, thank you to Dunstable Downs GC who hosted this years Junior Championship and for their warm welcome and hospitality.
