After the storms of the weekend the county seniors were pleased to have a perfect golfing day to compete for the County Seniors Championship.
Leighton Buzzard was well presented by Head Greenkeeper Paul Harris and Louise and her team kept the players well fed & watered.
However, as is becoming the norm for this event after 18 challenging holes, John Latimer of LBGC and Cameron Large of John O'Gaunt were tied on Gross 74.
The competition rules require a sudden death play off in the event of a tie. So the two players started again on the first, both played decent drives, John came up slightly short of the green with his second and Cameron found the far right greenside bunker leaving himself a difficult down hill side lie.
The Match administrator, David Corfan, was called for a ruling on next to play. John left his chip some 15 feet short of the pin for 3. Cameron played out of the bunker and left his ball short of the green some 20 feet away for 3 with a difficult down hill chip/put to follow.
Cameron played his 4th first and probably played the shot of his career caressing his ball onto the green, it took the slope and rolled gently down the slope into the hole. Sadly John could not match Cameron's 4 and sudden death on the First decided Cameron Large as the County Seniors Champion.
