Our annual friendly with Norfolk is usually a ding dong battle and this proved to be no exception. The morning 10 holes of greensomes proved to be tight all the way through, with two strong performances by our final two pairs of John Donnelly & Graham Crawford, and Phil White & Mike Turnock, turning the morning in our favour. Both had good 4&3 wins. Light winds and an overcast sky threatened rain throughout, but thankfully it remained dry all day.

The afternoon matches were again close affairs, with Phil and Mike confirming our win with another good performance at the tail. To give you an indication of the standard of golf, John Haines & Rob Westgate came home in 2 under gross and eagled the last to confirm their win.

Good performances throughout the day from all parts of the team, even my partner in crime Peter Jones and I had two good wins against their Captain, Terry Norman. But honour of the day must go to Bill Love, who had a hole in one on 16th and then promptly lost his match!!

Our thanks to Bedford & County for hosting the match and providing a course in excellent condition and greens that certainly suited me!!
