Bedfordshire hosted our third league match this year against Hertfordshire at South Beds Golf Club. Hertfordshire fielded a very strong team as they were keen to take the point from this game as they recently drew with BB&O. The Bedfordshire team played well, however, to take a half point from the visitors with a 5-5 draw. There were great efforts from Harry Williams, Phil Corke, Clive Allen, Les Sharman and Steve Montague who gave us the 5 wins we needed, and three other matches were pretty close and could have gone either way. What a result that would have been to have won just one more game!
My thanks to South Beds for hosting this event and for setting pins in very challenging positions. We now have one match remaining – Middlesex – and hope that we can carry this result forward and just maybe get a result against them.
