This was the first match of the 2021 County Match Week and the standout match was the no 1 Singles between our Luca Thompson and Amelia Williamson a member of the overseas England performance squad and at Florida State University. She also plays off plus 5. It was a tight match and Luca was never really behind. Great body language and a positive attitude resulted in a finish for Luca on 17th with a 2 and 1 victory. What a start for her week and it shows that there is no reputation that is too big for the Bedfordshire girls. Annabel and Georgia were up for large parts of this match but could not get their noses ahead by enough to keep the win and although they got to the last it was a 2 hole loss. Losing both foursomes leaves the team with an uphill struggle but with two halves from Caitlin and Chanel we came out with a 2-1 win in the singles - however not quite enough to claim the victory. Chanel was also in charge for much of her game and was unlucky to only get a half. A 3-2 loss but so close to a win if two games had got half a point more! A good confident start against Norfolk against whom we generally have a tough match.
