On Thursday 18th May the County Seniors played their final match before the League season starts in June, we visited Northamptonshire at Northampton Golf Club Harlestone. As is always the case with our friends from Northamptonshire a very enjoyable day was had by all on a course that has certainly matured since I last played there 25 years ago. The morning Greensomes were a tight affair with 2 wins each and 2 halved matches. Following loses in the first 2 matches in the afternoon and a half in the 3rd things were not looking that great, however comfortable wins for all 3 of the remaining matches turned it around giving Bedfordshire a very good 10-8 victory on a course only a couple of the 12 man team had played previously.

  Story of the day came from Richard Harris and my match when in the afternoon our opponents when they were looking in trouble won the 4th with a double hit bunker shot holed for a birdie 3 but not to be outdone Dickie won the following hole with a Hole-In-One !! and a special well done to those few who got a drink out of him. We had 1 new player in Jamil Khalid from Stockwood Park who hopefully enjoyed his 1st outing and acquitted himself well, well done to all those who played and secured another excellent result. We now move onto the league season starting at home to BB&O on Wednesday 14th June.
