Tavistock Trophy Winners

The four group winners met on Friday 30th August to contest the final of the Tavistock Trophy at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club. Teams of six players each from Beadlow Manor, John O'Gaunt, Mowsbury and Pavenham Park were trying to win the Trophy, in which the best two gross scores are taken first and then the best two nett scores from the remaining four scores count. The course was presented in great condition and although the day began with quite a stiff breeze, the weather improved  and was kind to all.

Beadlow Manor were the worthy team winners with a score of 286, closely followed by John O'Gaunt with 290. Mowsbury were third with 303 and Pavenham Park fiished with 321. Many congratulations to the winners from Beadlow Manor, who also won the Junior Inter Club earlier in the season and recently represented Bedfordshire in the Junior Champion Club tournament at Woodhall Spa. The Junior Organiser at Beadlow Manor, Gary Boyle, also deserves great credit for his team's performances this season. All four Clubs in the final are already winners though as they have been playing home and away all season to qualify for this final so well done to them all.

Beadlow Manor, as winners will host the final of next year's competition on the last Friday of August.
