Bedfordshire County Golf

Disappointing Seacroft

The third weekend of May each year sees most of the finest golfers in the East of England meet at Seacroft for the Eastern Inter Counties Foursomes. In its 61st year, this is a team competition with 10 players per side where each County plays ever other County over two days in a 72 hole matchplay competition played off scratch.

The standard is incredibly high and it is perhaps not surprising that we struggled again this year as most other Counties fielded a team whose combined handicaps were circa +15 whereas ours was 13. It is a scratch competition, however, and all our players battled well all weekend in - very unusually for Seacroft - warm and sunny conditions.

The final team placings are shown below. Congratulations to Lincolnshire who played great golf all weekend
