Luke Charnley & Alex Bithrey

Congratulations to Alex Bithrey and Luke Charnley (South Beds) who both came away from the NASUWT England Schools National Championship, held at Enfield GC Middlesex on 23rd June 2014, with much credit and success.  Alex has been selected to play for England Schools against Scotland in early September at Southport and Ainsdale GC, Lancashire whilst Luke has been named as a reserve for internationals against Wales and Scotland.

Both players benefited from strong afternoons displays with Alex shooting a one under 70. Luke shot a level par 71, having been 3 under at one stage earlier in the round. Alex’s consistency throughout the day was the key to his successful 144 total (74 & 70) and he finished in 11^th place. Luke's afternoon 71 turned a disappointing morning score of 79 into a 150 total.  In a day of low scoring, the winning score was 7 under (67 & 68) and with a morning low of 66 by a third player, both Bedfordshre players showed much grit and determination to grind out their afternoon improvements.

We wish them well in representing their Country.
