Vacancy - Lead Assessor Course Rating

Vacancy – Lead Assessor, USGA Course Rating System

The County Golf Union is looking for a volunteer to undertake the position of Lead Assessor for the USGA Course Rating System in Bedfordshire.

The system enables Standard Scratch Scores and Slope Ratings to be assessed for golf courses throughout the County. Training will be given by England Golf.

Responsibilities for the role are:-

To liaise and agree suitable dates/times for course inspections with Golf Clubs and the Bedfordshire Ladies Golf Association Rating Team

To undertake joint course inspections with the Bedfordshire Ladies Golf Association Rating Team, at present the requirement is to undertake at least 3 course inspections per annum.

To lead a team of at least 2 Assistant Course Raters when undertaking course inspections.

To complete required forms in accordance with the manuals outlining the system which are then forwarded onto the Regional England Golf Regional collator for the system.

This is a very interesting and vital role. At the moment English Golf Courses do not have a slope system of handicapping, however, once all English Courses are assessed this will lead to a World Wide Handicapping System being adopted.

Whilst not a paid position, traveling and food expenses will be refunded by the County Golf Union.

If you are interested in applying for the position please contact the County Secretary – secretary@bedsgolfunion.co.uk
