Bedfordshire GC wins 2023 Tavistock Trophy

Teams of 6 youngsters from Cainhoe Wood GC, South Beds GC, John O'Gaunt GC and Bedfordshire GC assembled for the final of the 2023 Tavistock Trophy on Friday 25th August. The Final is traditional held at the club that won the trophy the previous year - Cainhoe Wood GC won in 2022. The players compete in an 18 hole, handicap qualifying, strokeplay event and team score comprises the best two gross scores plus the best two nett scores from the other four players.

We were blessed with nice weather but the players found that scoring was not easy. Best gross was Ethan Akpan with a creditable level par 73. Best nett was Oliver Gauntlett with an impressive 67.

Bedfordshire GC (295) won by four strokes from John O'Gaunt GC (299). Cainhoe Wood GC (308) was third, 12 strokes ahead of South Beds GC (320). The individual scores can be found here.
