Alex Bithrey wins the Boys Championship

Alex Bithrey (South Beds) shot a great 36 hole total of 137 - 1 under par - to win the Under 18 & Under 16's Boys Championships at Stockwood Park on 8th August. The Under 16's Boys Champion was Bradley Finch (Aylesbury Vale) with an aggregate score of 143.

Although Alex is in the Under 16's age group, he won the overall Championship by six clear shots and will go forward to represent Bedfordshire in England Golf's Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa in September. We wish him well. In fact the top nine places on the day went to players in the under 16's category which bodes well for the future, and shows 'if you're good enough, you're old enough'. The younger boys in the Under 14 & Under 12's category also played on the same day, but their Championship is limited to 18 holes. The Under 14's Boys Champion was Luke Charalambous (Beadlow Manor) whilst Jamie Gibbons (South Beds) won the Under 12's title. Well played to both of them.
