Match Report

The Under 16’s completed their League Fixtures at Pavenham Park on 30th August, when a wet and windy day made playing conditions very difficult for all and, despite this there was a high level of golf played.

Beds boys going down 3 - 1 to BBO and beating Middx 4 -0 after the morning foursomes.

The afternoon singles saw some fine performances from the Bedfordshire Boys, Alex Bithrey playing top of the order winning both of his matches, after his two wins in the morning with Sam Flannery, seeing both boys achieved maximum points for their County.

Such was the determination for Beds to pull back their morning disadvantage against BBO, was highlighted in Reece Blair’s match against BBO’s George Gardner, 4 down after 9 Reece played the back nine in 5 under par to win his matches on the last Green.

Beds boys managing to win their singles matches 4½  to 3½ with a great effort by all, but it was not quite enough to overturn the match to a talented BBO side.

Beds v Middx was not as close with Beds winning 10½ – 1½.

Congratulations to all the Under16’s squad on how they have played and conducted themselves for the County throughout the season.
