BB&O v Bedfordshire at Calcot Park
Friday 30th August
Our final league natch of the season was played Against BB&O at Calcot Park, Reading. Conditions were perfect and the course was in excellent condition, whilst Bedfordshire were able to field almost a full strength side with a couple of exceptions, BB&O also fielded a very strong side.
Bedfordshire were soundly beaten 9.5 -0.5 although a number of matches were quite close.
The results were as follows. BB&O first………..
Tim Whittaker halved with Phil Sutton
Dougie Cameron beat Mark Stokes 7/6
George Wilson beat Colin Moody 6/5
Malcolm Reid beat Chris Smith 6/5
Mike Sanders beat Dave Marshall 3/2
Craig Buttivant beat Simon Hollands 3/2
David Cromie beat John Haines 3/2
Ashley Brewer beat Richard Harris 1 up
Adam Peak beat Peter Mott 3/2
David Niven beat Dave Banwell 3/2
With the exception of this game we have had an excellent season and with a little luck could and quite possibly should have gone into the final match with 6 points. We have finished above Middlesex again this season but are goal is to win the league and I can assure the squad is up for it and will get together over the winter to ensure we are prepared for next season.
All of the squad pass their thanks to County for supporting us financially through the season.
Best
John Haines
